These: are smilies. You see them all the time on the Internet; in forums, on blogs, in the sidebars. But what do they do while the page isn't loaded? Where do they go when no-one's looking at them? Do they have lives behind the scenes, inside the computer, which we are unaware of?

That's what Bitmap World is about.

Harry and his family and friends are smilies living in a computer doing their research papers. They have lives and jobs just like people in the real world. Their world is very similar to ours, but also has some differences. Finding out what those differences are is part of the fun of reading the comic.
