363 - Trouble Ticket 1555

Meant to comment when this strip originally went up…

This scenario is actually taken from a real-life helpdesk interview noted on a tech blog. Well, all but the lawsuit and end where the customer comes to beat up the operator. The thing that struck me is that as absurd as it sounds, the truth is that “press any key” IS a fallacy, because some keys won’t work. Though, typically, a user tries several different keys before giving up. Of course, in an age of rampant litigation, I could totally see someone actually filing a suit for misrepresentation.
