358 - The Last Arrow
January 13, 2010

I think most people will know this, but for some of our readers not totally up on pop culture, the “containment unit” in panel 5 is actually a parody-not-so-parody “pokeball” from Pokemon.
For the more astute, or should I say the older crowd, the wumpus is actually modelled after the wumpus from the old Texas Instruments (TI-99) game, “Hunt the Wumpus.” Since that was my first exposure to this fun puzzle game, I wanted to pay homage to it in the strip.
On a plus side, this strip went much faster than the last few. Some of the techniques I’ve been stumbling on in recent weeks are starting to take root and I’m getting faster. Hopefully it will help more in the future.
