When I was a kid, I LOVED the old Batman series with Adam West. I was too young to have seen the first runs, but I watched it every afternoon on re-runs. I was such a fan that when the network changed its schedule, I was so devastated I cried for hours. So much that my father’s friend called me on the phone pretending to be the t.v. station in order to console me.
One of the things I noticed about that show is that during each episode, you had the main bad guy (Joker, Riddler, whoever) and he usually had a pretty girl on his arm and two dopey henchmen. Throughout the whole episode, you’d just see those few. That is, until Batman and Robin showed up. Then, suddenly, out of the woodwork would come 10 henchmen you never saw, just so you had a huge number of bodies for the heroes to beat up. I still chuckle when I watch the show today and see that. So, this comic was a small homage to that. (Were YOU wondering where the heck all those guys came from, we’ren’t you?)
