313 - Rooftop

It wasn’t my original plan to have Verde be Rasterman’s confidant. I actually thought that it might be someone from the police department, a knock-off to the Commissioner Gordon/Batman relationship. However, when working on the storyline, this strip came to mind and I realized this was a much better direction to take things. Certainly will make things more interesting down the line.

As for the whole GPS thing (for those who don’t know, that means Global Positioning System, like OnStar), this was kinda based on my kids. They don’t use anything as sophisticated as GPS, but they will call me periodically at the end of the day wanting to know when I am coming home from work. I’ve surprised them a few times, coming home early, and I’ve gotten a reaction similar to what Verde got. My kids have chores they are assigned during the day which I expect them to get done before I come home. In typical kid fashion, they oftentimes wait until the end of the day to do them and then rush around (sometimes minutes) before I come home, hoping to get them done before I walk in the door. Of course, when I don’t call first, it can be a bit surprising to them when I’m there and they haven’t even started tidying-up yet!
