109 – Ssid

You hit it on the head. Most of the character names in the strips are considered Meaningful Names. Basically, they are names that have a meaning specific to their character, or a reference to the computer world in general. One of the fun aspects (and challenges) of the strip is to try to tie-in most character and places to computers–either referencing specific hardware/programs/functions, or using general names such as computer companies or model names.

You can find a lot of these references in our Wiki. Also, when our forums reopen, we have a “Laugh Olympics” area where our readers have fun earning points if they can guess the computer and pop-culture references peppered throughout the strip. ~Mirz
