Finally…a Winner!

Well, we finally have the winners of our recent BYOC contest! If you want to know WHY it took so long to announce them, it wasn’t simply because we were busy. We had to pare down the entries to 10. We did have quite a few entries. As with any contest, many were great, a few not so much. Anyhow, after wrangling to get to 10, we sent the strips on to our judges, who happen to be…

Then the incredible thing happened. We had a 3-way tie! We tried bringing in our son to see if his votes would help, but then it ended up a 3-way tie in another direction! Since we felt the first count was fair, we decided not to use Linus’s input, but instead take the original 3 that won and ask our judges to vote for their 1-2-3 choices. It took a bit of extra time, but we ended up with a winner.

That said, even though we ended up with a 1st place entry, we have decided to give all winners a choice of one of the three prizes. So, theoretically, we could give out 3 coffee mugs. Since we have had instances in the past where a winner has declined a prize (or not gotten back to us), we do have 4th and 5th place winners listed too.

As a nod to the top-10, all of the strips are listed on the Contest page, with the non-winning entries getting honorable mention.

We thank everyone that participated. We love the BYOC maker and hope people continue to use it. However, we do want to announce that we are moving into the new age of BYOC for our next contest. Not sure when that will be, but most likely in September sometime. Stay tuned!
